Department

In the Banking Operation Unit (OU), we help lending institutions make important decisions about their business, particularly when they are providing loans, managing risk, or conducting financial planning for the future of their institution. We do this with our innovative software and reliable analytics, helping them understand how to do their job better through training, learning solutions and advisory services. We are a dedicated team of experts in technology and financial analytics who understand what our clients need.

Role/Responsibilities

The Moody’s Analytics Graduate Program will provide the opportunity to gain in-depth insight into a broad range of financial institutions, working within our Banking Operating Unit (OU), focused on delivering high quality products and services across our client base. With a combination of formal and on-the-job training, alongside ongoing mentoring, you will be encouraged to work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external partners.

As a graduate in the Lending Services team, you should possess both functional and technical capabilities and once you have completed your training will play a key role in various software implementation projects for our commercial and corporate loan origination solutions. In general, tasks may include:

  • Working closely with the Project Manager on planning the project activities and timeline
  • Assisting with requirements gathering workshops to understand client’s requirements and to advise clients on how the requirements will be addressed in the Moody’s lending solution
  • Conducting the solution design and gap analysis
  • Assisting with Implementing the solution by (but not limited to) configuring/customizing user interfaces, business rules, financial templates, rating models, integration and workflow process-related aspects of the system using Moody’s proprietary tool kits and/or industry standard software tools
  • Collaborating closely with internal parties on defect tracking and new functionalities
  • Assisting clients on data migration and integration with 3rd party systems
  • Supporting the execution of System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Providing training to clients on the usage of the system and the proprietary tool kits
  • Supporting pre-sales activities if required
  • Actively participating in improving our product knowledge database (e.g. documentation, feedback on products/project methodology, development of “how-to” entries, etc.)

Qualifications

Our Graduate Program is open to 2021 and 2022 graduates. The ideal candidate will have a minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Information System (Finance or statistic related degree with coursework on IT can also be considered).

You will be asked to demonstrate:

  • Strong software development background: experience in using an advance programming language, e.g. C#/Java/C++
  • Other hands-on IT skills; knowledge of Postgres Oracle PL/SQL and scripting language strongly desired
  • Capability to participate in all phases of a software implementation project
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business experts and IT personnel
  • Ability to investigate and problem solve technical issues independently
  • This position may require some travel to our clients’ sites (European and African region).
  • Basic understanding of credit analytics, finance institutions and instruments – banking or insurance (e.g. loan, letter of credit, FX); exposure to credit decisioning process also helpful
  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts and the use of balance sheets, income statements, financial ratio, etc.
