Department

The Predictive Analytics group transforms our data into state-of-the-art analytics to help clients make better decisions in the face of uncertainty. Our clients come from a wide range of industries such as banking, insurance, commercial real estate and many more. They use our economic research to evaluate credit-worthiness, to monitor risks and opportunities when weighing up major investment decisions as part of their corporate strategy. Our team is made up of intellectually curious economists, data scientists, and IT professionals who combine technical skills with a strong desire to understand clients’ needs.

Responsibilities

The Credit Default Modelling Solutions team in Predictive Analytics is looking for an intern for a 10 week assignment. The intern will work on incorporating climate change adjustment in credit risk models.

  • Risk modelling, including the development, implementation, and validation of credit risk models using state of the art statistical and econometric techniques.
  • Econometric modelling and coding.
  • Documentation, including model specification, estimation, and validation.
  • Internal and external presentations.

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background – completed, pursuing, or planning to pursue Ph.D. or Master’s in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or Physics (or related subjects) is essential.
  • Experience in quantitative modelling is required. Climate modelling is a plus.
  • Strong programming skills in R.
  • Team player.
  • Highly organized and efficient.
  • Well-developed IT skills including Email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
