What we're looking for

Enthusiastic and ambitious individuals to join our three-year graduate programme from September 2020. You’ll be cool under pressure and able to juggle a varied workload with the demands of studying. We want you to make an impact, so you will need to be a confident communicator who can build rapport with individuals across the group. As you would expect, to be a success in finance you must have an affinity for numbers and great attention to detail. You will also need a strong academic background with, or on track to achieve, at least a 2:1 degree.

The role

You will complete three one-year placements in different parts of our group

Group finance

Based in central London at our group head office you will work as part of a small but perfectly formed team, getting the chance to rub shoulders with the group leadership team around the coffee machine. You will gain a solid grounding in financial and management reporting, internal audit, tax and treasury management and will see how the external audit process works. You will also be able to attend an audit committee meeting and a results presentation to the City.

Operational finance

Based in central London, Manchester or the Midlands you will work in one of our divisions getting experience in the day-to-day running of an operational finance team. For example, you will learn about how we process transactions as well as VAT and CIS compliance. You will develop your knowledge of budgeting and cash forecasting, providing important information to the management team to help them run the business

Project finance

Based in central London, Manchester or the Midlands you will work in one of our divisions to see how project finance operates. This will often involve getting your head around how complex regeneration schemes are put together and you may need to work with detailed financial models. You will continue to develop your experience of management reporting and will be exposed to new areas such as capital allocation

We believe that it is important for our graduates to see for themselves what we do and we will ensure that you get the chance to get out and about to visit a selection of our projects throughout the programme We will provide study leave and training to help you to gain the CIMA accountancy qualification You will be assigned a manager during each placement who will work closely with you to ensure that we maximise the opportunities that you get to learn and develop yourself, including attending relevant training courses. You will also be assigned a mentor from the senior management team who will act as a sounding board to support your career development throughout the programme,
