Working within a small team, you will provide analysis and research support for new projects and also assist with proposal preparation for prospects.  Typically, you will contribute to several concurrent projects.

You will have a clear aptitude to work both independently on a standalone basis, as well as interacting with other consultants from within our Energy networks organisation.

The focus of your work will be techno-commercial in nature, you will be interested in the energy, gas value chain and the transition to a decarbonised sector.  As part of your role you will be required to be familiar with technical aspects of gas transmission, distribution, LNG and infrastructure markets.

What you'll do

Your responsibilities will include:

• Support due diligence projects, early feasibility and planning assignments.
• Costing, planning and budget forecasting.
• Economic evaluation of projects.
• Review financial model assumption for projects.
• Review of energy supply, sales and purchase agreements, user agreements and other project agreements.
• Management of small and medium-sized projects or parts of larger projects;
• Market study and analysis of energy trends.
• Support in business development.

To apply for this role, you will have less than 12 months experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:

• Economic
• Finance
• Business
• Statistics

In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:

• Methodical approach to problem solving
• Interested in the energy markets, gas, power, decarbonisation
• Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.

Desirable

• Knowledge or exposure to the natural gas, LNG industry, hydrogen and power;
• Prior experience building and auditing financial models;
• Basic understanding of project financing;

There will be a requirement to travel for business on an occasional basis, typically at short notice for short periods
