Job description

The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, thermal, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.

Owing to continued growth and high demand for our services, we are looking for a graduate renewable energy engineer to join our global energy team in our Madrid office. By joining our team, you will have access to the largest, most challenging and innovative projects worldwide. The work is extremely varied as will be your role. You will be working with a strong renewable energy team and other discipline professionals delivering prestigious schemes. You will be part of a multicultural and diverse global team. As a wind and/or solar professional within Mott MacDonald you will provide technical support to a wide variety of stakeholders including developers, original equipment manufacturers, regulators and financing institutions. The role is varied in its nature and will include working on a range of international renewable projects providing:

  • Technical advisory/due diligence for lenders, developers and investors
  • Owner's engineering, construction supervision and design services
  • Concept and FEED design engineering.
  • Feasibility studies.

As part of our global team you will be responsible for

  • Supporting major Wind and Solar project developments internationally.
  • Providing engineering input from initial assessment through to technical and economic feasibility, due diligence, construction monitoring and acceptance.
  • Reviewing and preparing technical reports to a high standard including specifications, reports, proposals, calculations and contracts.
  • Providing technical tender support and writing technical specifications/design drawings.
  • Actively assisting with business development and client management.
  • Attending client and site visits as required (worldwide).
  • Working effectively on several projects concurrently to deliver to tight deadlines.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience (excluding placements), have a degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:

  • Renewable Energy Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Project Management

In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics

Methodical approach to problem solving.

  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
