About the Data Governance team

The Data Governance team is responsible for implementing a governance framework to support efficient, compliant and ethical processing of data to enable risk aware decision making. We help with all strategic and tactical Data Hub initiatives, assist Technology to implement the governance framework and help the business end users understand their governance responsibilities when planning to use customer data assets.

About you and the role

We are seeking an experienced Junior Data Governance Analyst, who will be focused on:

  • Understanding of industry standard data governance framework/standard
  • Understanding of working in the Data Governance domain, especially around transparency, lineage, quality, risk management, information security and compliance areas
  • You should be comfortable analysing and interpreting multiple data sets, doing gap analyses, interviewing various stakeholders, documenting findings and providing recommendations for best practice solutions in order to be successful in this role
  • Build of new processes and documenting assisting or proposed processes to support and automate internal Data Governance initiatives
  • Assisting the Data Governance Manager with facilitating the teams ceremonies including stand ups, backlog refinement sessions and retros and any other ceremonies that are deemed necessary
  • Assisting with the management of the backlog and ticketing system
  • Ensuring successful delivery of initiatives through development and management of overall project plan, documentation and schedule
  • Familiarity with project tools such as Confluence and Airtable
  • Assist with internal governance reviews
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Ability to tailor approach to communication, analysis and team activities according to the given context
  • Understanding of DPA2018, GDPR, PECR, CCPA requirements
  • Assist with identifying risks and blockers to the way data is being processed and communicating these findings in a clear and consistent manner
  • Identifying the best way to capture and document the requirements and present them using non-technical jargon
  • Assist with implementing the capabilities according to the roadmap
  • Support with the application of appropriate project methodologies to build collaborative, cross-functional teams delivering value to the business where appropriate
  • Be knowledgeable around Data Governance initiatives through continuous learning and training (seminars, webinars etc.)
  • Seek to improve and be a positive influence on the team and other colleagues
