Ocado Retail is currently preparing for a significant re-platforming programme. The programme needs to ensure the many and varied business requirements are all captured to a high standard and in a consistent way, that the feedback process between the Technology and Business teams is efficient and effective, and that the validation and testing of new features is both rigorous and well documented.

This role is being created reporting to the lead business analysts. As a junior business analyst, you will work with business owners, SMEs, and Technology teams to deliver the above on a re-platforming programme.

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Taking guidance from the Lead BA as to tasks to work on and their priorities
  • Helping to map key ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ operational processes
  • Working on the gap analysis between the business requirements and the ‘To-Be’ platform’s current capabilities
  • Working in conjunction with the Lead BA and other BAs to Facilitate the running of workshops with SMEs and business owners to understand and capture requirements
  • Help validate functionality being built and ensure it lines up with business expectations and outcome
  • Review existing requirements documents and update them accordingly
  • Ensuring that the requirements are translated into well-articulated definitions that align to SME expectations of outcomes
  • Monitor and document changes to baseline requirements by recording them into the traceability matrix
  • Be one of a small number of key points of contact between the Technology (Product) and Business teams as part of the agile development feedback process
  • Be a critical part of the User Acceptance Testing workstream, supporting the business teams in documenting the key scenarios and as a BA carrying out the initial validation of functionality before passing it on for business teams for full UAT

  • Exposure to gathering requirements and carrying out gap analysis
  • Assisted in organising and facilitating workshops
  • Proactive and focused on the delivery of successful outcomes
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience in communicating with stakeholders
  • Able to tailor their approach to get the best out of working relationships
  • A pragmatic and conscientious individual with attention to detail and high standards
  • Able to create and maintain documents
  • Experience in supporting business teams in UAT is advantageous
  • Experience in using a hybrid of Agile, Scrum & Waterfall methodologies is advantageous

  • Degree level educated
  • Experience in delivering technology/digital solutions
  • Experience in grocery eCommerce
