We have an exciting opportunity to join our Test team, where you will be working with a range of high-value, low- volume cryogenic products and superconducting magnets, running tests which ensure that every product we manufacture meets customer specifications.

We are looking for individuals who have a background in science or engineering, can demonstrate a practical aptitude and enjoy solving problems. We will provide all the training you will need in our technology and the manufacturing and testing skills required to perform the role.

The Opportunity

In this role your focus will be to work in the test environment for one of our Value Streams.  This will include setting up your bay ready to assemble and test the products to ensure that they meet the required specifications and fault find any problems.  You will assemble the various components and pre-made sub-assemblies and then follow test processes, taking measurements, recording data and completing test logs.  Test processes vary in complexity and can last from 2 days to 3 weeks. You will also receive training so that you have the required skills and experience to work in other areas of Production as required, such as build and wiring.

About You

To be successful in this role, it is likely that you will have a degree or higher in a science or engineering subject.  It would be beneficial if you have experience of working with dilution refrigerators, however training in our technology (including cryogenics, thermodynamics, and superconducting magnets) will be provided.  It is essential for you to have a practical aptitude and willingness to learn mechanical manufacturing techniques.  Attention to detail is a must, together with the ability to solve problems and good communication skills. You must be able to work on multiple projects at any one time as you will be working to run different test processes on different products concurrently.
