We are seeking innovators to work at the forefront of science and technology. Join a team of inspiring scientists working on the latest innovation to enable groundbreaking developments genomic and proteomics research, patient diagnosis, agrigenomics and environmental monitoring to name a few.

We have multiple new opportunities for

Graduate Scientists to join multiple teams within Research and Development departments.  Based on skills and experience, suitable candidates will be allocated to:

  • Nanopore Research team:  discover novel biological protein nanopores and engineer them to improve their properties to be utilised in various applications: DNA sequencing, RNA sequencing and Protein sequencing.  
  • Sequencing Chemistry Research team: discover new enzyme motors and develop new chemistries and new modes of sequencing DNA and RNA using newly developed nanopores.
  • Biologics Development team:  Acquire newly discovered nanopores and enzyme motors from various research teams and develop them further for a product-ready specific application.
  • Protein Sequencing team: develop novel methods and related chemistries to sequence proteins enabling commercialisation of protein sequencing on ONT platforms.

Selected candidates will be trained under the supervision of highly experienced senior scientists to:

  • Design and engineer proteins using advanced tools.
  • Use state of the art biochemical / molecular biology techniques to purify and characterise proteins.
  • To handle and manipulating DNA, RNA, peptides and proteins.
  • Use ONT proprietary sequencing platforms and kits to characterise newly developed proteins and chemistries / methods.
  • How to use various tools and proprietary methods to analyse acquired data.

Experience/skills

  • Science degree in Biological Sciences / Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biophysics or equivalent.  Some hands-on experience or industrial experience would be useful but NOT essential.
  • Oxford based or willing to move to the area
