We’re looking for the next generation of talented undergraduates to join our team for an unforgettable 12-week internship. The programme

  • Successful candidates will spend 12 weeks working with our UK Qualification and Assessment Technology teams.
  • You will be paid for the duration of your internship. The internship begins on Monday, June 6th and ends Friday, August 26th.

As one of our interns, you will gain a comprehensive introduction to our business. You’ll be assigned to a team and work on real-life projects that bring our qualification delivery and services to life. Support in the role, in job training and professional development will be provided to enable you to contribute to the business. You’ll also have direct access to a senior member of the team, as each intern will be mentored to help you make the most of the 12-week program.

Role and responsibilities 

As Product Owner you will specify business requirements for technology development and delivery. Elaborate requirements into quality user stories on a just in time basis for completion in a development phase ensuring that the stories have clear and valid acceptance criteria, and the stories are fit for purpose.

Describe, prioritize, and communicate the requirements that really matter to the development teams and answer all related questions. Understand the principles of good software development to make communication with the development team easier.

Work with the development team through the development/release cycle to continually reinforce and refine the business goals and to support the development team to understand exactly what is required. Participate in development reviews, planning meetings and retrospectives.

Interns will develop a broad knowledge of business analysis at Pearson, completing rotational work with several teams focused on different business and technology assessment delivery There will also be an opportunity to work and contribute to solutions management strategic initiatives.

About you

  • We look for Students pursuing a STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with information strong written and verbal skills or relevant work experience.
  • We also look for Students pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, information security, engineering, or technology.
  • Students should also have strong communication skills, both written and verbal along with an ability to translate business requests into technical asks. Experience in computer software is a bonus.
  • Students should be a ‘people person’, well-rounded and eager to take on new challenges. Flexibility is important, as you will be joining a versatile and agile solutions management team.
  • Graduation date between December 2022 and May 2024 and should be able to travel to one of our office locations.
