Main Purpose of the Job

We are looking for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer with drive and enthusiasm, and who is able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Geotechnical engineering

You must be enthusiastic and have the desire to learn and progress within the Geotechnical space. Whilst no experience is required post degree if you have previous experience in the design of shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, slope stability or have experience in the preparation of desk studies this will be advantageous. If not we will look to train you on the above and provide the platform for progression through our Graduate Programme that you will be enrolled in after you join.

The role will offer you exposure to a large range of project work and liaison with clients (both externally and internally from other sectors/offices).

Essential/Preferred Qualification

  • A Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A post graduate degree (MSc/MEng) in geotechnical engineering or affiliated subject, and/or proven experience as a Consultant Geotechnical Engineer.
  • Be approaching or working towards chartered status (CEng / MICE).ExperiencePrevious experience of an engineering organisation
  • Experience with a focus on the detailed design of shallow and deep foundations, embedded retaining walls, deep excavations and highway design would be an advantage.
  • Experience in ground investigation design, specification and implementation.

Skills

A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with good communication skills and report writing.

  • Communication skills; Verbal & Written
  • CSCS card and PTS would be an advantage.

A working knowledge of geotechnical software such as WALLAP, Pdisp and PLAXIS is desirable.
