About the Role

You will be joining a hardworking and successful team specialising in Rail Engineering projects across the UK.

The team work collaboratively across the UK and are growing rapidly, this role would be based in our Bishops Stortford office too. One of our recent, successful projects is Hoo station. Pell Frischmann was a central member of Medway Council’s Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) delivery team, providing all the rail engineering-related and design scheme throughout GRIP 2 feasibility and GRIP 3 option selection.

Joining Pell Frischmann will also see you part of an expert, multidisciplinary team where you will be trained in your set discipline to enable your future progression. Additionally, you will be enrolled onto our 2-year Graduate programme as a further support in your development.

This exciting programme runs across about 40 hrs per year and will enable a bigger group overview of types of work, presenting the opportunity to network with others and develop key skills such as project management, personal Effectiveness, and leadership skills.

Main Duties

  • Rail, Station, Depot and Infra design
  • Checking and approval of designs and calculations
  • Reporting progress to Clients
  • Support and encourage staff in their professional development
  • Contribute to business development activities

Essential

Qualifications

  • Honours Degree in Civil Engineering 2(i) or above
  • Working towards Membership of the relevant professional body

Experience

  • Exposure to Rail and Civil Infrastructure Engineering projects or an interest in pursuing as a career

Skills

  • Good Written English
  • Good communication skills
  • Good software skills for communication, reporting, calculations and structural analysis
  • Engaging in preparation of tenders, business promotion and general commercial.
  • Project management

Preferred

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering
  • Membership of a relevant professional body

Experience

  • AutoCAD or exposure to other design software.
  • Previous work/placement experience in an Engineering consultancy
  • MicroStation, ProjectWise, struct des soft
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS)

Skills

  • Full Driving Licence
