A summer placement at Renishaw provides the chance to learn about the day-to-day reality of working in a world class manufacturing environment. 

This will offer you the opportunity to understand and interact with cutting edge technology within a precision mechanical, electronic, and optical environment. It provides an insight into what a career in a modern manufacturing facility really means and how it interacts with the entire business operation. You will be given relevant projects and responsibilities related to your interests and discipline studied and be mentored and supported by the technical staff and our senior managers.

You will be encouraged to participate in the relevant areas; either assembly engineering or manufacturing engineering (both areas having process development, process support, and project engineering functions) with activities ranging from process design, project planning, performances analytics, to hands-on support and problem solving. 

You will have the opportunity to connect with people working in the business and discuss your career ambitions and ideas with employees in similar roles. A successful placement provides an excellent opportunity for you to be considered for a graduate scheme position or a direct entry role in the future.

Requirements

  • Studying at sixth form or degree level in any STEM subject 
  • Have a proven interest in technology 
  • Be enthusiastic, motivated and have an ambitious nature 

If you have the right aptitude and appetite you will have the opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact during the placement. 

As Renishaw is based in a semi-rural location, it is essential that applicants have their own form of transport or they are willing to relocate to the local area.
