We wish to appoint a number of Project Engineers to work across our portfolio of projects. The role will typically involve working closely with a Senior Project Manager assisting in all aspects of project management, and taking responsibility of specific project management functions as may be assigned to you from time to time.

The role will involve work at all phases of a project, from concept through design, procurement and construction, to commissioning, qualification and handover.

Depending on experience and ability, you may be managing your own projects after the initial induction and training period, but in any case it is anticipated that you would eventually progress to Project Manager level, or an equivalent responsible position across our range of project functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the overall management of engineering and construction projects, from bidding through to handover
  • Take responsibility for certain projects or parts of projects, under the guidance of a Project Manager
  • Ensure all work under your supervision is being carried out to the highest standards and in line with PM Group’s standards and procedures, and the client’s requirements
  • Take a “hands on” approach to managing your work – using your technical skills and experience as and when appropriate
  • Actively promote and achieve the very highest standards in health and safety through all stages of the project life-cycle
  • Ensure that the project scope is fully understood, communicated and adhered to, with change being controlled in line with PM Group’s and the client’s procedures
  • Ensure all relevant records, notes minutes of meeting, etc are properly written, recorded and communicated
  • Multi-discipline design and procurement management

Qualifications

  • A Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Science or related discipline, ideally with a Master’s Degree or studying towards a Master’s Degree. 
  • Suitable level of experience in a project engineering and delivery function is expected.
  • A willingness to learn, and to work across a variety of projects in a range of different locations and environments
  • A “can do” attitude is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with relevant parties.
  • Flexibility and the ability to handle multiple requests from across several areas.
  • Excellent organizational skills – with the ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Strong sense of customer focus and teamwork.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative under minimal supervision.
