Team Overview
We are seeking a recent graduate to join a fast-growing business unit (Managed Data Services), working to provide the world’s largest and most prestigious investment organisations with personalized data operations services. The team operates as a start-up, trailblazing into a greenfield area of the marketplace, but has the security and support of being part of well-established and well-renowned company. As well as providing data management and data operations services to large investors, the team are also operating at the cutting edge of technology, utilizing the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) tech to deliver services effectively and efficiently.
Role Overview
The graduate should have a keen interest and background in private equity and/or corporate finance, with a passion for finding, interpreting, reviewing, and presenting financial data. The role is ideal for someone looking to further educate and establish themselves in the private equity industry.
The role requires the ability to work with documents provisioned by fund managers and understand and interpret the information within them for the primary purpose of scoping data points for extraction. The role will also require the ability to extract relevant data correctly in such a way that the output can be utilised by our Artificial Intelligence (AI) extraction tool(s). The role will also require you to harmonise data, perform quality assurance to ensure the data meets quality standards and be able to account for any questions arising in relation to the final output. This role may also involve client engagement with a view to your serving as an SME in the field of alternative investment financials. Further, you will be working at the forefront of our new technology innovations in AI and robotics.
Responsibilities
- Extracting data on fund and asset level metrics from fund documentation provided to institutional investors.
- Harmonising this data so it maps to client and house data models.
- Working alongside a team of analysts to provide expert insight in understanding and evaluating financial data and adopting and helping to establish best practices for interpreting data.
- Maintain contact with clients via telephone and email, raising and resolving queries relating to specific data points.
- Run analysis and QA on extracted data to validate and sanity check data output.
- Acting as a final-stage approver for output documents ahead of client delivery, with consistency and accuracy essential.
- Be accountable for overall data precision and ensuring Preqin’s reputation is upheld as a provider of accurate and timely data.
- Working alongside the offshore team and technology provider(s) to ensure smooth workflows and meeting with them to ensure this where required.

Desirable Requirements
- A degree in a finance, mathematics and/or economics-based discipline.
- An understanding of financial statements and other document types associated with private markets investing (including capital account statements).
- Wants to grow into a leadership role within the team, with future opportunities for team and client management and technology innovation.
- Good with soft skills, important for liaising with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
- Someone who wants to be at the forefront of working with new technology.
- Experience in building strong relationships and working as part of a team. An excellent team player with the desire to act as a mentor to others.
