You will be developing our design guidance in relation to town centres and shopfronts.  This will involve:

  • study of a town centre or centres as they are and
  • reviewing the importance and merit of individual buildings/ frontages and looking at:
  • Threats and opportunities to these and drafting guidance as to how they may make the best contribution to the town centres
  • Producing some guidance about the town(s) with guidance identifying key buildings, and their importance (annotated maps or leaflet in draft form).   

You will need

  • To be studying towards or to have recently (in the past 18 months) achieved a degree in town planning, urban design or a relate subject
  • Some experience in project working and some knowledge of town planning and awareness possibly specialising in urban design
