You will connect with families and young people across West Oxfordshire who face barriers to accessing opportunities. Working on projects, which tackle this disadvantage and as a result improve wellbeing, you will get valuable experience of community development and strengths based practice. You will be embedded within a team of dedicated and highly experienced colleagues and focus on projects such as our brand new You Move programme, the Holiday Activity and Food programme and our Youth Needs Assessment. There will be lots of variety and interaction with a number of different settings. Tasks will include talking to residents and groups, helping to organise activities, communications, liaising with delivery organisations such as Leisure centres, undertaking administrative support and helping to arrange events.

You will need

  • Studying towards or recently (in the past 18 months) achieved a degree in Community Development, Humanities, Health and Wellbeing or Social Sciences.
  • Experience of organising projects would be an advantage.
  • Being a confident communicator with excellent listening skills, able to engage well with those who lack confidence and need understanding is important.
