Deals Insights and Analytics – Financial Modelling

We are one of the world’s largest and most successful deal analytics and modelling practices. Sitting at the heart of PwC’s +$10bn global deals business, we work with the world’s largest investors on their most complex transactions and restructurings.

Our purpose is to support the increasingly sophisticated client demand for advanced modelling and data-driven insights to underpin their critical investment decisions. We deliver this with:

  • A range of products and services that deliver transformational insights to our clients throughout the deal cycle;
  • Significant investments in cutting edge technologies and platforms
  • A world class and truly diverse team with a range of data science, technology, commercial, financial and industry backgrounds

For the right candidate, this is an amazing opportunity to build a career in an environment that fosters a creative and entrepreneurial spirit, with the unrivalled security, personal development, client access and investment that PwC brings.

We offer an exciting, continuous development journey to help you become a market leading deals advisor.

What you’ll do

Your main area of focus will be Financial Modelling which is used by our clients to support almost every critical business decision. You’ll initially focus on reviewing client financial models, moving onto a broader range of modelling projects when you are more experienced and progressing with your accountancy studies. Through this experience you’ll become an advisor to our clients, translating and communicating your analysis to help answer the critical commercial questions.

As part of this team you will help design and deliver truly game changing analysis and insights to meet a range of business needs. For example:

  • Providing critical independent model review services to increase investor confidence
  • Improving clarity and transparency for investors and finance providers with KPI-driven analytics that provide critical insight into key operational, commercial and financing aspects
  • Adding credibility to the business growth story with insightful analysis of historic performance translated into a robust articulation of cash and profit dynamics to strengthen our clients understanding

What you’ll gain

On joining, you’ll study for the ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) with the option to later study towards your Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification. This will be discussed with you during your graduate programme.

What you’ll need

You’ll be technically-minded, driven by solving complex problems, and you get a kick out of explaining how you do it. You’ll be working with some excellent analytical brains, but also varying stakeholders for our clients, and for this reason you will know how to explain the technical details to non-technical people.
Therefore, what we can’t go without is:

  • An inquisitive nature, and a keenness to solve and translate problems
  • Aptitude for working in a fast paced finance environment
  • Capable in presenting your findings in a non technical manner
  • Ability to foster trusting and strong working relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Graduate in an analytical discipline with a desire to study for accounting qualifications

The role will be based in Belfast but candidates should also be prepared to travel as some of our opportunities can require team members to work at other PwC offices or client sites across the UK or overseas on a temporary basis (subject to government advice/guidelines).

You’ll need a 2.1 degree or be on target to achieve a 2.1 degree in a STEM related subject (Science / Technology / Engineering / Mathematics) and demonstrate a passion for a career in technology and how organisations use it. We determine whether you're on course for a 2.1. based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study.

Do you need a work permit?

Please take some time to confirm your eligibility for the role. We welcome applications from all candidates but there are restrictions to some areas of our business and some points you should note on our website.

Please note that PwC is unable to sponsor any candidates for some roles as the Home Office’s eligibility criteria will not be satisfied. For a list of these roles, please review the ‘Important information’ section of the work permit page on our website.
