Legal Summer Vacation Scheme

To get a training contract with us, you’ll need to complete our Legal Summer Vacation Scheme. The two-week schemes for students run in the summer and will help you decide whether a career with us is right for you.

Do well and you’ll be offered a training contract with us – the start date will be flexible where possible.

What you’ll gain

Our two-week paid Summer Vacation Scheme is a great way to find out how we work and see for yourself the ways in which we’re truly unique in the legal marketplace, gaining valuable legal work experience during your time with us. You’ll get a highly-competitive wage while you’re here. You’ll rotate across two different practice groups, carry out research, draft legal documents and attend client meetings. You’ll have the opportunity to join client meetings and calls, conduct research, practise legal drafting, join our seminar and training programme and work directly alongside our lawyers.

The scheme is our principal route towards securing a training contract with us.

What you need

We generally recruit two years in advance for trainee solicitors however we’re flexible and allow applications from penultimate year (and onwards) law students and final year (and onwards) non-law students.

  • You’ll need to have, or be on course for a 2.1 degree or above. We determine whether you're on course for a 2.1 based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study
  • A keen interest in business law.

  • Behavioral Based Assessment (BBA) deadline: 26 January 2022
  • Video interview deadline: 11th February 2022
  • Assessment Centre (Career Focus Day or CFD) date: w/c 28th February 2022
  • Senior Interviews: Late March 2022
