Cloud Engineer Graduate - Early Careers

QinetiQ's Communications and Networks Engineering Team are renowned for providing high quality, independent technical assistance to our customers. The team exploits their broad IT and cloud knowledge to support customers with a range of interesting and unique programmes of work. Working in a hybrid manner, from home sites and various customer locations, you will use your technical knowhow and skills to advise, formulate and deliver effective solutions, helping our customers to shape their views using technical evidence, analysis and sound judgement.

What will I be doing?

The cloud team provide secured public and private cloud infrastructure that enables customers to solve complex problems, provide specialist environments and services, and create digital twins of real life systems.

You will undertake a variety of tasks, primarily focused on development in Amazon Web Services infrastructure, including design, development and administration of cloud infrastructure. Working in Agile project teams and through creation of reusable patterns and designs, you will learn to develop using Infrastructure as Code.

Academic requirements

You will need to have attained or working towards a degree with a key focus on any of the disciplines listed below:

  • Cloud
  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Networking
  • Software Development

Additional requirements:

Have a strong interest and/or experience within IT systems typically covering:

  • AWS or Azure Cloud
  • Software Installation
  • Networking
  • Writing code
  • Passionate about understanding how technology works and enthusiasm in new technologies

Mandatory

All applicants must also be eligible for SC clearance as a minimum. 

Please note that our Early Careers roles do not meet the legal threshold for candidates who are residents of the UK on student visas.
