What you'll do
Be primarily employed in the Shore Integration Facility (SIF) and National Maritime Systems Centre (NMSC), Portsdown Technology Park (PTP), Portsmouth.
- Be working with a small, dedicated Design team to assist with the installation and de-installation of equipment into the SIF & NMSC.
- Answerable to the Control Systems and instrumentation Team Lead.
- Peer review CAD drawings and other installation documentation.
- Assist in the creation of IGPs (Installation Guidance Packages)
- Have a flexible/adaptable mind-set.
- You must possess the ability to gain SC Clearance in the UK
The SIF & NMSC is a facility that allows our customers to run ships equipment to carry out trials and scenario based evaluations.
You will be working with project managers to understand customer requirements and help create a plan to integrate the works necessary through the production and reviewing of (IGP’s) Installation Guidance Packages.
Your main duties
- To assist in the production of Installation Guidance Packages which will be used by installation team to enable installation of equipment into the facilities.
- Peer review CAD drawings to aid the installation of the equipment.
- Assisted Creation of Electrical & Mechanical Drawings including (Not Exhaustive) Room layouts, Cable routes, Wiring Diagrams, Cable data sheets, Mechanical.
- Adhere to the IGP KPI, which is a measuring tool to gauge the progress of the IGP Process.
- Attend and be able to take minutes of meetings and reviews.
- To liaise with the Electrical and Mechanical Fitting team to understand requirements for the design.
What you'll need
Essential
- Analytical & investigative skills to turn basic requirements Information into a comprehensive Installation Guidance Package.
- To have experience with CAD drawings mainly 2D.
- Be able to maintain a high level of performance under pressure
- Adhere to tight deadlines.
- Exceptional eye for detail.
Would be advantageous
- An Electrical Bias.
- Understanding of DEF Stan 2-40 regulations.
- Understanding of BS8888
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Experience of Maritime systems
- Previous installation experience
