As a Systems Engineering Graduate in QinetiQ, you will join a team of engineers from a range of backgrounds who work across QinetiQ’s business to apply best practice System Engineering principles to our technical projects. System Engineers are responsible for bringing together a wide range of technical inputs to create and lead compelling solutions across the complete spectrum of technology domains that QinetiQ operates.
As such, you will be responsible for;
- Developing your System Engineering skills and technical knowledge
- Contributing to technical solutions across a wide range of domains (e.g. maritime, land, cyber, aerospace)
- Leading small technical projects
We operate a matrix resourcing structure across the business so work assignments may not directly align to the main sites below but listed are the typical site System Engineering domain activities. In every case a level of collaborative work is conducted across the business geography
Our Boscombe Down teams are largely involved in aerospace activities covering delivery of test & evaluation, aircraft modifications and delivery of specialist flight training
Our Bristol teams are involved in the complete spectrum of Land, Air, Sea and Cyber domains. Our location enables us to support a range of key customers in the Bristol area.
Our Farnborough teams are involved in a wide range of activities from Land and Space systems through delivery of special customer innovation centres, autonomy for unmanned vehicles, to the modernisation of test ranges
Our Malvern teams are involved in communication and data systems as well as specialist sensors and cyber technology.
Our Portsmouth teams are mainly involved in maritime systems covering ship command and control systems to remotely piloted vehicles as well as sensing systems and sea range development

Our System Engineering discipline is looking to recruit proactive, passionate and forward thinking people interested in science and technology who are looking to help improve today & shape tomorrow.
- Achieved or on track to achieve a bachelor’s degree or higher degree in a relevant STEM subject.
To apply for the role you must meet the below criteria;
- A minimum of a 2:1 Bachelor’s or higher degree or projected to achieve a 2:1
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
