We are delighted to announce that we shall be starting to hire for a number of paid internships across a number of business areas where you shall be at the forefront of full end-to-end service for leading-edge Low-Power Mixed-Signal SOCs from feasibility study through Systems Architecture, Digital and Analogue design, Verification, Validation, Implementation, Layout, Embedded Software design and ATE Test, Production and Characterisation. The Programme

You’ll be paired with a mentor with visibility to your project and team, receive support from your manager and have access to the entire Qualcomm employee community to ensure your success.

As an Intern you will be involved and will have the opportunity to participate in building best-in-class solutions and tools needed to enable state-of-the-art technologies for next generation mobile/embedded platforms for smart phones, autonomous vehicles, Voice &Music and IOT devices. You will work in a dynamic environment, be part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborate with internal teams, and get up to speed with what the future of 5G inspiring the Qualcomm products of the future.

Internships will expect to commence from as early Summer 2022 and last between 3 and 6 months.

About you

Minimum qualifications

  • In study towards a Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electronic Engineering
  • Must be available for minimum 3 months during Summer 2022 (May-September) with a graduation date of December 2022 or later

Preferred qualifications

  • In study towards a Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electronic Engineering

Successful candidates have one or more of the following skills:

  • Real-time embedded programming in C / C++ / Assembly for general purpose and heterogeneous processors including GPUs and DSPs
  • Communication systems, communication theory, digital signal processing (DSP).
  • Object-oriented software design and development
  • Implementation of complex algorithms on an embedded processor in a low level programming language.
  • Embedded microcontroller programming pertaining to control of embedded hardware devices.
  • Programming in resource constrained environments (MIPS, Memory).
  • Fixed-point DSP programming.
  • Distributed systems and networking protocols
  • Multi-threaded programming
  • Multi-core and multi-processor systems
  • Machine learning for wireless communications systems
  • System performance optimization
  • Knowledge of wireless protocols such as 5G NR, LTE and 802.11
  • Experience in complex software debugging
  • Digital signal processing
  • Knowledge of modeling concepts (e.g. discrete event simulation, polyglot programming
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g. bridging, routing), especially in Linux
  • Experience developing device drivers and embedded programming
  • Experience implementing and optimizing signal processing algorithms
