Position overview

*Please note: Opportunities may be based in Watford or London*

To provide a high level of accurate admin support to the buying team, with the responsibility of data management, including style definitions, price changes and purchase order entry along with sample management and delivery tracking.

Essential duties & responsibilities

Maintenance of data integrity for Buying

  • Responsible for the input of accurate cost and selling prices into the system, updating and changing where necessary
  • Tracking deliveries from Production and updating trackers to ensure all is documented
  • Ensure the timely and accurate creation of style definition with the SP&O team
  • Recoding style codes to ensure attributes are correct
  • Input markdowns into the system with the approval of the Assistant Buyer
  • Running reports when necessary
  • Raise and manage Purchase Order’s

Product Management

  • Managing seasonal rails and keeping in order especially for important and high level meetings
  • Ensuring product is put away and organised
  • Sample rooms and archived product is easily accessible at all times
  • Product packs to be created and updated per season
  • Track and manage Gold Seal samples and ensure that any discrepancies are flagged to the team

Weekly Trade Contribution

  • Running reports to ensure prices are correct and updating relevant documents
  • Analysing bestselling styles for the week and presenting back to the Assistant Buyer
  • Pulling product accurately onto rails for Trade review
  • Label product where necessary and ensure information is accurate
  • Present a monthly trade update to the whole Buying team

Communication to and from key business partners both internal and external

  • Constant communication with your Assistant Buyer and BAA’s relaying all key information
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships within the cross functional elements of the buying team including other departments
  • Providing and updating information to Planning and Distribution, Visual Presentation, Store Operations and Production Associates
  • Communicating to all team members any changes to delivery of product from both production and excess
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information, share best practices and develop systems knowledge
  • Assist store teams with product queries daily particularly with price issues
  • Building relationships with the international teams in New York and Geneva

Trend and Market Awareness

  • Understand competitors and the fashion market including luxury and high street
  • Commercially aware of product trends and key items specific for a season
  • Collate images and concept boards relating to the seasons buy

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Brand and process awareness
  • High level of Excel knowledge
  • Good level of accuracy and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines and moving with urgency
  • Proficient in retail Maths
  • Well organised and detail orientated
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office
