Reporting to the Project Manager (PM), the Project Controller will support several projects and teams of major make to print projects and product transfer programmes. The successful candidate will be familiar with project management processes, tools and will have experience in successfully managing multidisciplinary teams in complex project environment, especially within operations, manufacturing and supply chain.

The Project Controller will assist the PM to integrate efforts between all functions (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality and others as required) to manage risk ensuring the teams delight the customer and stakeholders by meeting cost, schedule and requirement targets.

Responsibilities

  • Support of multiple projects including product development running concurrently and within a matrix organization in conjunction with other project managers
  • Creation and maintenance of robust, adequately detailed and resourced project plans to enable progress, track cost and accurately forecast resource requirements
  • Assist PM with tracking and updating manufacture and delivery of hardware to agreed Line of Balance (LOB)
  • Track and help progress all required tasks to ensure successful project completion
  • Provide regular and effective project performance updates to the PM
  • Support project tasks in line with Collins Management System (CMS) including gathering and creation of data to create effective gate reviews to senior management
  • Pro-actively identify potential risks and define mitigation actions
  • Support several operations based product transfers and re-certification projects
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to drive efficiency and eliminate waste within processes and the organization

Minimum requirements

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, a recognised project management qualification is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience of complex manufacturing/operations projects, preferably in the Aerospace industry (heat exchangers)
  • Familiarity in managing issues and scope changes while bringing projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements
  • Familiarity in the manufacture of complex engineering products within a factory environment
  • Excellent skills in communication and reporting to customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels
