We are a team with the ambition to constantly improve our performance on and off the race track. Entering a new era of F1, we are looking to further develop and strengthen our Aerodynamics department in Bicester (UK).

The Role

We are looking for passionate and brilliant Junior Aerodynamicists who will work in one of our development teams. In this role you will be involved in all aspects of aerodynamic development including concept generation, design and development of car components. You will also be involved in aerodynamic assessment of key components on the race car.

Responsibilities

Aerodynamic Development

  • Work with the Team Leader to define the best development strategies, based on directions and performance targets
  • Prepare, supervise and execute aerodynamic test and development programs, from concept formation to finished racecar design
  • Create new geometries using CAD.
  • Submit geometries to test in both WT and CFD and manage the process.
  • Analyse results from CFD and wind tunnel and recommend track test of performant geometrie

Communication And Relationship

  • Communicate effectively with other groups such as model design, model shop, aero technology group, CFD group, aero production and wind tunnel systems group
  • Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects
  • To work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department

Wind Tunnel Testing

  • Extensive use of both CFD, wind tunnel and other tools to develop components, from initial idea to finished design
  • Conduct wind tunnel testing (some shift work will be required) and reporting of results

Experience

  • An in-depth technical appreciation of semi-empirical, CFD and wind tunnel test techniques
  • Master degree in STEM/Aerospace Engineering
  • Fluency in English
  • Nice to have: previous experience in F1 in similar roles
  • Good CAD skills
  • Strong aerodynamic academic background of minimum degree level, and solid relevant working experience
  • Team-player attitude and the ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision
  • The capacity to lead a project, solve complex problems and achieve performance targets within strict deadlines
  • Travel up to 10%
