    We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly, and outgoing Graduate Civil Engineer to join us in our Civil engineering team in our Woodstock office (Oxford). Based in our idyllic headquarters offices in the grounds of Blenheim Palace, working closely alongside other disciplines in the business (structural, architectural, building services etc) you will benefit from working on prestigious projects, covering a wide range of sectors including infrastructure, automotive, commercial, Formula 1 and international projects. We are increasingly working on high-value construction projects, with values in the region of several hundred million pounds.    

    The Ridge Civil Engineering team has particular expertise in flood risk management and assessments, highways design for roads (including Sectional Agreements e.g. Section 278, 38), pavements, cut and fill assessments, remediation, underground services, sustainable drainage systems, pumping stations, sewerage and external works. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a wide range of civil engineering services under the direction of a Senior Engineer and Team Manager.

    As a Graduate Civil Engineer at Ridge and Partners, we would expect you to demonstrate the desire and drive in working towards Chartership, which will be fully supported by the company.

    Role and responsibilities

    • Building relationships with the Ridge teams/ colleagues and with clients
    • Ability to work independently, under the supervision of a Senior Engineer and Team Manager
    • Assisting with the delivery of projects
    • Producing flood risk assessments (FRA’s) and drainage strategies.
    • Developing highways, earthworks, external works, and drainage designs
    • Producing civil engineering drawings and layouts
    • Working efficiently to meet project deadlines, demonstrating ability to work under pressure
    • Preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and other project documentation under the supervision of a Senior Engineer and Team Manager
    • Participating in the resolution of technical issues and applying problem solving skills on projects

    Experience and skills required

    • A degree in Civil Engineering (BEng/ MEng)
    • Experience with AutoCAD, particularly Civil 3D [desirable]
    • Experience with InfoDrainage [desirable]
    • Some previous experience in a similar role, or within the Civil Engineering industry [desirable]
    • An understanding/ awareness of Highway and Drainage section agreements (38, 278 and 104) [desirable]
