World-leading products simply wouldn’t exist if we didn’t have the people to invent them. To develop them. To support them. To bring them to our customers, globally. And that’s why HR is so fundamental to our success. This is the team that makes sure we have the right people, in the right places, doing the right things in the right way. Join us on our Human Resources Summer Internship, and you’ll help to make sure our workforce is always ready for the next challenge, whilst helping to enable our employees to be at their best. You’ll also have scope to contribute to real projects and to share your ideas about how we can excel in everything we do. Whatever year of your degree you’re in; if you are keen to learn and help support our dynamic HR team on the delivery of some key projects, we want to hear from you. This is a great way to kick-start your HR career, gain an insight into our business, what it takes to do well here and undertake work which you can be genuinely proud of.
Over the 10 weeks you spend with us, you’ll be given practical experience in HR areas from business change to talent and leadership development, rewards and benefits. The variety is huge and the projects are real, so you can expect non-stop learning. You’ll benefit from on-the-job experience, formal training, individual and group projects and mentoring on our buddy scheme. Show us your skills and your potential, and you could have the chance to join our graduate programme – a fantastic start to a career with a prestigious global company.
What you’ll do
You’ll be working with experienced HR professionals either as part of a business team, in our Global People Services or in our centres of excellence. We’ll set you goals, which you’ll achieve with support from the team and network around you. This will be an active learning environment where you’ll help deliver for our business. You might do that by working on generalist HR activities, or through supporting the development of our people and leaders. A recent intern completed the design for our Senior Leadership Conference, so when we say you’ll be tested on real-life assignments that could include some very high-profile work.
What you’ll need
Along with being on course to achieve a 2.1 degree (or equivalent), we’ll want to see great interpersonal, communication and leadership skills developed through well-rounded life experience – academically, socially and in any previous work situations. Flexibility is important, as you could be based at any of our sites. Ambition and drive are also essential, and you’ll be excited about the fact that this internship could lead to a place on our graduate development programme.
