In order to drive business growth in 2022 and beyond RPS Energy need to fill a brand-new role of Business Development Coordinator. This role will work closely with our Strategic Business Development Director to support lead generation and increase our market share in line with the Business Plan.

About the role

Day to day activities will include hosting a range of internal Business Development meetings to ensure activities and intelligence is efficiently recorded and shared, as well as attendance at relevant industry events on an ad-hoc basis.  The Business Development Coordinator will conduct market analysis, initiate contact with prospects, record leads and enquiries. Occasionally, where required, the Business Development Coordinator will support the established Bid Team with input to bids.

To excel in this role, you will enjoy working across varied activities within a fast paced and friendly team environment, you will have excellent people and communication skills, and you will be confident in supporting the management team across a variety of Business Development activities.

The successful candidate will provide support to the business on bid related queries, including standard company questions and support the ongoing maintenance of libraries and portals. This role will primarily focus on supporting the growth of our offshore renewable energy business in the UK and Ireland with support increasingly required in developing strategic global markets.

Key responsibilities

Business development

  • Assist with the development and implementation of strategies for winning business from target clients using appropriate databases, media, industry information.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of strategies for retaining and enhancing existing clients and other key commercial relationships
  • Liaise closely with the Strategic Business Development Director on client relations
  • Research new opportunities and assist with the identification and management of opportunities and ‘leads’ through our internal systems
  • Oversee and manage use of various subscription databases for both market analysis and insights and to assist opportunity generation for key target areas
  • Liaise with various Directors on business forecasts based on leads information
  • Maintain a list of networking events and book staff on these events. Monitoring and reporting on effectiveness
  • Liaise with membership organisations and assist with review of value, events, special projects

Business planning and reporting

  • Liaise with Strategic Business Development Director and wider management team to determine where support can be provided in developing growth strategies
  • Support Director of Developer Services with targeted market analysis on key geographies, industries, sectors and competitor information
  • Ensure target lists remain updated and regular approaches to clients are tracked.

Communications and Marketing

  • Assist with social media communications, review and updating of website and collating of strategic press releases.
