RPS are now recruiting for a Human Factors Graduate Consultant to join the team. Based in our Warrington office, as a Human Factors Graduate Consultant you will work closely with other team members and our clients to provide specialist support within high-hazard industries.

The Human Factors team forms part of major accident hazard safety business, which works in sectors including Nuclear, Defence, Chemical, Oil and Gas, Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing. We successfully provide Human Factors design and safety case support to ensure that the role of the operator is fully considered and potential for human error minimized. Typical projects involve providing tailored Human Factors solutions on the design and operation of a range of topics, such as: control rooms, interface and equipment, layout and workspace, environment, alarm, competency and procedures.

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to learn new skills and develop their existing knowledge in a hands-on consultancy environment. A career in this Human Factors team will see you working alongside leading professionals to deliver a variety of exciting projects and solve problems that matter. Your development will be supported by the other team members to allow you to perform at your best. An approved mentor will guide you to work towards chartered status with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors. We also offer a range of in-house technical courses to expand your knowledge of the other disciplines that Human Factors interact with and support.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a flexible approach
  • The ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders and clients
  • Degree in a relevant discipline, preferably Human Factors/Ergonomics or Psychology
  • Demonstrate desire to find solutions to problems
  • Willingness to embrace new ways of thinking
  • Pursues continuous improvement and innovation
  • Always works respectfully with others
  • Flexible and is willing to travel to work on site with clients
  • Eligible to obtain security clearance
