Job summary
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Graduate Engineer to support the delivery of Drinking Water Safety Plan assessments and data analysis activities, contributing to risk assessments and documentation of the water system’s performance from source to tap.
The scope will require
- The review and data capture for the salient inputs and outputs of a water treatment plant systems.
- The risk assessment of item 1, and the communication of this to a wider working group for the remediation of risk.
The water treatment plant system is the whole source to tap view and whilst the treatment plant and the activities therein are of a high importance, knowledge of intakes/networks/reservoirs will also be required as well as water quality parameters. The risk being measured at the works is a measure of process resilience as opposed to OH&S aspects, but the principles are similar.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Participate in onsite assessments of water treatment and network assets.
- Assist with data entry, validation, and reporting.
- Support process mapping and the identification of resilience risks.
- Contribute to development of asset improvement proposals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project targets.
- Assist with data capture for water treatment plants, intakes, networks, and reservoirs.
- Participate in onsite system reviews and process mapping exercises.
- Support the creation of technical reports and risk summaries.
- Collaborate with engineers and operators to assess process resilience risks
- Assist in the preparation of remediation plans and tracking of actions for compliance within defined timelines.
Key requirements
- Honours degree (Level 8 NFQ or equivalent) in engineering (Civil, Process, Mechanical, or Environmental).
- Some relevant post-graduate experience in the water sector preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of treatment plant processes and safety standards.
- Good technical and analytical skills; Attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and strong teamwork skills.
- Excel proficiency essential.
- Motivated team player with strong communication and learning aptitude.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
