    The role

    We are looking for a proactive self-starter and positive team player to join our growing Global Security Function as a Cyber Security Graduate. This is a unique opportunity to join a vibrant and exciting security function in the heart of a FTSE100 software business.     We want to hear from individuals with interests in cyber security, technology, organisational behaviour, culture, human risk, communications, and data. You will be contributing to the security of Sage’s products, systems and colleague population and you thrive on exploring new ideas and resolving challenges.

    You will work in a minimum of 2 rotations across the Global Security team, starting off in Offensive Security and then rotating into one of the other Global Security teams made up of Application Security, Cyber Defence Operations, Security Engineering, Governance, Risk and Compliance and Awareness and Engagement teams. You will be responsible for your own work and will be working across the team and within the wider Office of the General Counsel Function, which includes the Legal, Procurement and Risk and Controls teams. You will communicate with various stakeholders, including Sage’s network of Security Champions who sit in our development teams and can be involved in corporate initiatives and activities.

    As a Security Graduate at Sage, you will have the opportunity to specialise in your chosen area of security as part of the graduate programme whilst building a broad foundation in generic security skills across the teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Completing mandatory IGNITE program training/development activities
    • Taking responsibility for own development in chosen security speciality
    • Ability to complete tasks and assignments to expected timescales and to high quality
    • Responsible for assigned products, systems or assessments under supervision
    • Develop understanding of own role, role of the team and security function as a whole
    • Maintaining awareness of and adhering to Sage policies, standards and processes
    • Maintaining awareness of the changing threat landscape by participating in relevant security groups, forums, or conferences
    • Contribute to blogs / articles / presentations for internal or external use to establish Sage as a recognised centre of excellence for security

    Key performance indicators

    • Successful completion of the Sage Ignite Graduate Program modules and work streams
    • Demonstrable improvements in knowledge and skills in chosen security, communications and co-ordination across the Global Security Function
    • Measurable improvements in administration, communications and co-ordination across the Global Security Function

    Skills and experience

    • Knowledge of Cyber Security practices and context
    • Proficiency in English – written and verbal
    • Strong communicator
    • Proactive and enthusiastic team player

    Preferred, but not essential

    • Knowledge of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) (for technical roles only)
    • Knowledge of common security testing tools (for technical roles only)
    • Knowledge of scripting and / or programming languages (for technical roles only)

    A relevant IT degree, or an alternative degree supported by a keen interest in pursuing a career in Global Security.
