This role will drive and deliver Data Quality improvements to make great quality, well understood data available to the colleagues that can then drive analytics and insights into the business.

The role will involve working across a mix of systems with a range of tools and technologies.

The fundamental principle is that data is a corporate asset and, as such, we need to manage, improve and govern it in a way which creates value from that asset.

What I need to do

  • Work to continuously improve the data quality within the organisation across all data types, commercial, customer, colleague and product data with a focus on value
  • Be able to measure improvements in quality and identify the value that delivers
  • Work with the delivery squads identifying key DQ focus areas
  • Triage data quality issues, understand impact and importance and prioritise workload to address
  • Ensure data quality issues are addressed at source and work with relevant owners to drive through necessary actions
  • Monitor and maintaining accuracy, alignment and quality in a pro-active manner – embed pro-active data quality profiling in key source areas
  • Help support the process to embed data quality by design in the development process including source data profiling
  • Utilise data lineage to understand downstream impacts of data quality issues and ensure pro-active altering is in place for end users
  • Have the flexibility to work in a standard approach as well as supporting rapid discovery, prototyping and data science
  • Use data ownership and stewardship community to drive appropriate data quality improvements
  • Help implement data quality management framework, processes, principles and standards
  • Manage and help create appropriate artefacts
  • Support the implementation of the appropriate toolsets and applications
  • Prioritise work, manage time effectively and complete tasks within agreed timeframes
  • Identify, undertake root cause analysis and addressing real and perceived issues with data quality

What I need to know

  • Knowledge of the tools, technologies, skills and processes required to deliver a great data quality capability
  • Well versed with the concepts of data quality preferably in retail domain
  • Basic SQL skills (To be applied in SAS, Snowflake and Oracle)
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Previous experience of creating visualisations
  • Understanding of Agile principles and JIRA usage
  • Understanding of concepts of Data Vault Modelling
  • Understanding of design and development of data stores, digital solutions and data warehouses and associated toolsets.
  • How to utilise ownership and stewardship models to drive through improvements
  • Data and information management lifecycles
  • Knowledge and use of data quality toolsets, methodologies and process
  • How to undertake triage, root cause analysis and resolution

What I need to show
