The base
We're based in the City of London - close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre and have everything we need to work flexibly.
The department
The Product division is uniquely positioned within the organisation to drive change. Sitting between Investment, Distribution, and Infrastructure, Product is well placed to independently evaluate the market and identify key trends, while understanding the perspective different parts of the business in order to formulate the right strategy. The Product function is made up of a range of teams whose overall responsibility is to own the entire product lifecycle from idea to execution to ongoing monitoring of the product range.
The programme
This Programme will provide you with a unique introduction into the investment management industry and how Product operates within it. You'll be given introductory training and opportunities to network with people across the business.
During your internship you will be assigned one of the Product teams where you will have the opportunity to work on live projects and shadow senior executives.
The teams you could rotate into include Product Development, Product Strategy and Product Governance.
- Product Strategy- This team leads product strategy and innovation to ensure alignment with client needs and the anticipated investment landscape. The team seeks to build a strong understanding of the market, better inform Schroders' sales activity, improve product positioning and suggest product development ideas.
- Product Development - This team works across the entire product lifecycle, and is tasked with creating new products (e.g. funds) or solutions for our clients. Our job is to outperform our competitors by creating products that are innovative and suit our clients’ needs.
- Product Governance - This team safeguards the best interests of investors throughout the product lifecycle encompassing idea generation, product design and development, and ongoing monitoring through to product closure.

The knowledge, skills and qualifications we're looking for
- An honours degree or equivalent – we’re not fussed when it comes to your degree subject or predicted grade
- Penultimate year of study. Unfortunately we no longer accept applications from final year students considering further studies (i.e. Masters) upon completion of undergraduate course
