As a member of the Estates architectural design team, you will proactively support the team in delivering design and project work to tight deadlines, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary design and project management teams.

Working alongside the architectural lead and architectural technologist you will be working on numerous projects from refurbishments to extensions to support the overall project delivery of the Estate.

Your responsibilities

  • Undertake a range of architectural duties, collaborating closely with a multi-disciplinary design team, project managers, suppliers and manufacturers and ensure the effective and timely delivery of projects.
  • Involvement in meetings, undertaking site visits, carrying out surveys and preparing records of existing buildings and sites.
  • Assist colleagues in the preparation of drawings, schedules, and specifications.
  • Carry out administrative tasks relevant to the production of architectural information such as issuing drawings, registers, meeting minutes and maintaining records on the network in relevant project folders.
  • Liaise in a clear, positive and effective manner with colleagues and clients.
  • Organise team CPD.

What you'll need

Essential 

  • Obtained first degree bachelors (RIBA Part 1) and a Diploma in Architecture (RIBA Part 2) in either 2020, 2021 or be due to receive it in 2022 
  • RIBA Part qualified with a minimum of 1 year work experience
  • Expected or have achieved a 2:1 or above 
  • The right to live and work in the UK 
  • Demonstrate strong design skills with attention to detail and enjoy problem solving. 
  • Have excellent organisation and good communication skills with a positive attitude towards learning and taking ownership of tasks.
  • A self-motivated team player who is efficient with time management, deadlines and workload and happy to work using their own initiative.
  • Have an interest in all aspects of the architectural process through every design stage from conception to completion involving surveying, drawing, detailing and collaboration to enable successful project delivery. 
  • Proficiency in Autocad is key, as the role will require producing drawings for all RIBA stages of works in Autocad. 
  • A good working knowledge of construction detailing and understanding of UK statutory building regulations. 
  • Familiarity with relevant construction health and safety legislation, risks and hazards. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite.

Desirable

  • Adobe photoshop and sketchup.
  • Professional membership of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
  • Knowledge of Sustainability and its practical application.
