The Role

Contributes to the overall success of the Investment Banking in London ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

In London, our Global Banking and Markets division provides corporate and investment banking and capital markets products and services to corporate, institutional and government clients in the EMEA region helping them seize opportunities, unlock value and achieve their goals.

For summer 2022, Scotiabank is offering a fantastic opportunity for one student to gain outstanding experience from the Summer Internship Programme in our Global Investment Banking(“GIB”) division covering the Energy, Power, Infrastructure and Utilities sectors.This role will introduce students to a stimulating and dynamic environment. Students will gain practical, hands-on experience working with top professionals and senior leaders of the Bank.

Accountabilities

  • Participate in strategic discussions concerning new and existing business opportunities for clients and effectively translate these ideas into client pitches and presentations.
  • Research various companies, assets and transactions using public and private information
  • sources to prepare meaningful analyses
  • Maintain and update company and transaction databases
  • Where appropriate, work closely with and assist deal teams on live transactions, helping them to provide timely client support
  • Assist in building detailed financial models
  • Provide assistance to the GIB team in the execution of their daily tasks
  • Take part in a CSR project with the 2022 Interns, and really get to make a difference

About you

  • Students in their penultimate or final year of study, in a related degree,
  • Available for a 10-week period commencing at the end of June 2022
  • High academic achievement with a drive to succeed
  • A clearly defined interest in Investment Banking
