The challenge

Begin your journey with us whilst taking part in our fantastic graduate development programme. We will create an individual training plan to help you develop the specific skills and knowledge required for your role. By the end of it, you will be set up with the best knowledge and hands-on experience to equip you for your professional career in Siemens.

As a Digital Business Development and Strategy graduate, you will be involved with Digital and Innovation topics and on a two year programme, covering the following key areas:

  • Supporting the Digital BD&ST team in business development activities as required
  • Supporting the Digital BD&ST team in strategic activities as required, including
  • Competition and market research
  • Benchmarking of company products
  • Development of product Portfolio
  • Customer analysis and strategic relationship management
  • Business development activities within active sales opportunities
  • Working on marketing and comms material to promote Siemens digital offering in the UK
  • Developing an understanding of the railway industry with a specific focus on Rolling Stock
  • Developing an understanding of Siemens Mobility Structure, its processes and its go-to-market approach
  • Developing an understanding of Siemens Digital Offering
  • Attending events, fairs and conferences supporting the Digital Team

You will support the existing team in a fully operational role, and you will be involved in both project based assignments and cross-functional working. During this time you will build a complement of skills.

The candidate

  • You must be completing, or have graduated with a 2:2 or higher degree in a business, economics or engineering related discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Confident with the ability and self-determination to drive your own development through the scheme
  • Have a natural interest in digitization and innovation topics
  • Work experience in an engineering environment would be beneficial but not essential
  • Previous management experience will be welcomed

What else do I need to know?

This role will require travel to other sites within the UK so you will need to be flexible in regards to travel.

Alongside your role, the graduate development programme will teach softer skills such as communication, teamwork, commercial awareness, digitilisation and innovation.
