If you are an undergraduate student with a passion for protecting the environment, then we want to hear from you! Siemens Magnet Technology (SMT) has an excellent opportunity for a student to join our inclusive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team near Oxford. This is a 12-month placement starting in summer 2022 that comes with an attractive salary and benefits.

The Role

To give you an idea of how this flexible EHS internship would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

  • Help coordinate our incident and near-miss investigation processes
  • Complete factory/workplace inspections
  • Providing induction and training
  • Assist with business improvement initiatives
  • Identify areas of improvement

About you

To apply, you should be working towards achieving a 2:1 degree in Environmental Studies, Occupational Health, and Safety, EHS Management, Safety Engineering, or Business Management and looking to complete a summer placement as part of your degree. You will also need:

  • A passion for protecting the environment, and the health, safety, and wellbeing of others
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good problem-solving, reasoning, and time-management skills
  • To be able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
