We are always challenging ourselves to build a better future. We need the most innovative and diverse Digital Minds to develop tomorrow‘s reality.

About the team

We are a small and close-knit team with members in Cambridge UK, Ames Iowa and Pune India.

Our remit is to create and support formats and toolkits that enable rich data exchange between Siemens Digital Industry’s products and between them and third-party applications. Consequently, we find ourselves at cross-roads of collaboration between the different parts of the development organisation.

We have a relaxed and flexible working atmosphere and a culture of mutual respect and shared responsibility for getting the job done. Our modern office is centrally based, and benefits from a range of social activities for the 200 employees who work here.

All the main toolkits are developed in C++ on Windows and supported on a variety of platforms. The main ones are:

  • The JT Toolkit which facilitates creation and query of the JT 3-D visualisation format
  • The PLM XML SDK which facilitates handling of the PLM XML product structure and metadata format.

Around these we have built a collection of tools written in other languages to support building, testing and other software development functions.

About you

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or another subject with strong computer science content.
  • Motivated self-starter and a clear communicator, both spoken and written, who enjoys solving problems

Can you see yourself learning, growing, and succeeding in this exciting position? If so, we want to meet you!

About the role

Reporting to a senior member of the Interoperability Protocols team, you will undertake investigation, debugging and development tasks in line with the team’s objectives. We will give you the opportunity to learn and contribute in different areas of the software development process, with emphasis on achievable projects to both encourage your development and deliver something useful.
