This placement will be with our Class 700 Desiro City Thameslink Project. The fleet consists of 60 eight-car and 55 twelve-car trains and entered service between Spring 2016 and 2018. Maintenance depots have been built at Hornsey and Three Bridges and hosts a friendly, diverse and dynamic Siemens Team.

The Challenge

Embark on your 12-month placement with us whilst taking part in our fantastic intern development programme. We will create an individual training plan to help you develop the specific skills and knowledge required for your role. By the end of it, you will be set up with the best knowledge and hands-on experience to equip you for your professional career in Supply Chain Management – Materials Management.

Being part of the Thameslink Materials Management team you will be part of:

  • Monitoring the levels and ordering of required materials to meet demands
  • Providing clerical support to materials management in data analysis and data housekeeping.
  • Collaborating with internal/external customers and suppliers
  • Communicate with our Procurement team regarding shipping requirements and responding to inquiries relating to material requirements.
  • Ensuring the flow of materials is undertaken in a controlled and timely manner.

The Candidate

We are looking for innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following:

  • Studying towards a 2:2 or above in a supply chain/logistics related degree
  • You think logically, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving
  • You can work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change
  • You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
