Purpose
As an Undergraduate you will be part of the Information/Instructional Design team, who are responsible for creating a wide variety of external and internal documentation including user guides, reference manuals, training materials, and other customer-facing support and/or learning content.
Key responsibilities
- Working with our experienced technical writing team to gather information from subject matter experts, technical documentation, hardware/software demonstrations, application testing, functional specifications, available guides and hands-on experience as the basis for the documentation. The source of materials may require research or may be provided in a comprehensive form.
- For documentation writing: works with process owners to understand and capture the process and procedures, and creates and maintains them for operational efficiency. Creates presentations, graphs and charts as per business requirements.
- For instructional design: conducts training needs analysis, evaluates and recommends delivery alternatives, designs and develops course material for classroom or virtual (e-learning, webinars, webcasts) delivery, composes assessments and evaluation/feedback gathering tools. On-going maintenance of a variety of training topics/curricula.
- Involvement in multiple projects or large projects by applying basic project management skills and provides task activity, dependencies, and timelines to the Project Manager and/or product development teams.
- Plans, organizes, designs, and produces material in a user-friendly and easy to understand format following the SITA documentation standards and/or adult learning principles.
- Maintains current knowledge of adult learning and instructional design trends through participation in functional knowledge sharing, formal learning or social learning opportunities.
Knowledge and skills
- Completed 2 years of a University degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar your Degree course allows you to take up one year undergraduate placement.
- Experience through university project work of the concepts of user experience design.
- Good English skills for the purpose of document writing
