As a Graduate Business Support Manager, you will become a key member of our Building Services facilities management team responsible for engineering maintenance and soft facilities services within a portfolio of schools in Essex (Essex Schools). You will be responsible for the coordination and management of all soft facilities management packages such as cleaning, ground maintenance and security services. You will build and maintain successful relationships with our supply chain partners and help us meet or exceed our contract delivery requirements.

You will

  • Learn and embed yourself within the Essex Schools facilities management team – develop an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the business
  • Assist with collating data and records for upcoming supply chain tender process and help us select our supply chain partners
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with our supply chain partners (cleaning, ground maintenance and security providers)
  • Monitor performance against agreed KPIs (key performance indicators)
  • Escalate non-compliance to the Operations Manager. Liaise with our helpdesk team and play a key role in resolving issues effectively
  • Ensure records/certificates are always kept up to date in line with the contractual requirements
  • Manage and deliver reports required by either the client or the Operations management team
  • Complete any other tasks reasonably requested by Essex Schools senior management or the client

Who you are

  • Studying to degree level or having completed a degree in Business Studies or similar
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • A self-starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value to the function
  • Able to gather, analyse and evaluate facts
  • Able to pay attention to detail and see things through to completion

As part of the Graduate programme, you will have a clearly defined learning pathway to develop your technical and soft skills. You will build a strong professional network with exposure to our leaders and gain project management and technical skills for the future through completing a digitalisation project. You will also spend a week away completing a practical skills workshop to gain a wider understanding of the Construction industry.
