What is the opportunity in more detail?

We are currently seeking an Internal Audit Trainee to join our London internal audit team, which covers the activities of the Societe Generale group across the UK, Ireland and the Middle East region.

As Internal Audit Trainee you will work under the leadership of a Regional Audit Supervisor, and in some instances under the guidance of the Regional Chief Operating Officer (COO). Your activities will include, but not limited to:

  • Complete assigned audit work.
  • Perform other audit related tasks assigned by audit management, such as following up the remediation by the business of audit findings.
  • Developing innovative solutions to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department internal governance.

Profile required

  • Bachelor's level degree.
  • Preferably previous experience within the financial services industry, in an internal/external audit, risk management or compliance function. Data and/or reporting management experience would be an advantage.
  • ‍Advanced Python knowledge.
  • Proficient/good command of MS Office (especially Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBi) and data visualisation and analytics tools.
  • Work with confidence and demonstrate excellent organisation, time management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong relationship builder and effective communicator across all levels within a team, with the business and externally.
  • Clearly identify gaps and breakdowns in work performed and information reported.
  • Demonstrate attention to details but can summarise key messages succinctly, verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • ️ Affinity for working within technical applications and dealing with large datasets.
  • Fluency in English is required, French is a plus.
