The Solutions Design department is made of two technical teams, each focusing on different areas of IT design. The Architecture team focuses on large complex architecture within big projects, whilst the Infrastructure team focuses on providing SME expertise within a project and dealing with foundational infrastructure work.

As part of the Solution Design department, you’ll be supporting members of Solutions Design to proactively allocate and organise incoming projects to the best resource, seeing that the workload is balanced across the available team members to ensure customer deadlines and expectations are met.

You’ll also have the opportunity to learn the technical concepts and skills used by the Solutions Design team. 

Responsibilities

Additionally, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing the Solutions Design mailbox to respond to internal queries and project requests
  • Advising internal customers on the correct resource for a project; either internal resource or third-party
  • Aligning and logging projects to allow Solutions Design resource to keep track of their opportunities
  • Understanding and maintaining a log of Solutions Design skills to accurately align internal resource
  • Ensuring Solutions Design team members have the appropriate skills to meet internal/external customer expectations
  • Interpreting team data to create and present monthly and quarterly reports

What we need from you

  • Experience in similar administrative/coordination roles is preferable, on a resource desk or as a resource planner
  • Strong planning, organisation, and administration skills; with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport, with a focus on customer service
  • A desire to learn and understand IT as well as the ins-and-outs of Solutions Design
  • Passion for working with people and the ability to quickly build and sustain strong internal relationships
  • A pro-active approach and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Manchester will only be possible for candidates who possess direct relevant experience for the role. Candidates who don’t, and who will require upskilling/training, will need to be aligned to Marlow.
