Graduate Intelligence Assistant 2021
As a Graduate Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the division to deliver on its priorities, working in partnership to reduce inequalities, enable the best start in life and tackle the wider determinants of health. As part of a highly skilled and technical team you will make a difference by providing intelligence and analytical support to programme areas, commissioned services and health initiatives delivered by Public Health.
What will you be doing?
- You will be supported to develop and acquire applied skills and experience to further enhance your existing knowledge of core public health principles in the appropriate use of data, analysis, intelligence, and evidence.
- You will be encouraged to identify opportunities and undertake innovative analysis of locally collected data, with the opportunity to present at conferences and develop reports for publication.
- You will develop meaningful and visually stimulating ways of presenting and reporting intelligence outputs (i.e reports, presentations, dashboards).
- You will develop your skills in software such as PowerBI, R, and Excel to provide analysis and intelligence support to programme areas, commissioned services and health initiatives.
- You will take a pro-active approach to the collection, provision and interpretation of data, analysis and research to support needs assessments, service delivery, service development and service evaluation.
- You will support colleagues in Public Health and the wider council to access and utilise Public Health data, intelligence tools and resources, such as our Online Pupil Survey and the Public Health Outcomes Framework (PHOF).
What we need from you
- You will hold a relevant degree or equivalent level of academic achievement (Level 6 or above) this could include public health, health management, healthcare sciences, statistics or computer science, with a sound and proven aptitude for learning and development.
- An aptitude for synthesising and summarising large amounts of information, and an understanding of how to present data and information in a range of accessible formats.
- You will be confident taking the initiative within the context of defined objectives.
- You must be able to demonstrate good problem solving skills as well as work autonomously to progress work and projects.
- You will be required to plan, organise and schedule your workload and tasks within agreed timescales.
- It is essential you have excellent oral and written communication skills with well-developed report writing skills.
- You must have experience of using IT and databases to obtain information, analyse complex data to present information and report to stakeholders.
