As a FinOps Development Engineer, you will work in a unique role focussed on developing and delivering Stellar Omada’s FinOps-related products. You will be driven and committed to help make the product a market leader in the cloud financial management space while also providing first class support to customers. You will also be personable, collaborative and possess a strong desire to implement change as well as have a passion and love for what you do!

Responsibilities 

Product Development

  • Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions.
  • Design client-side and server-side architecture and develop and manage well-functioning scripts, databases and applications.
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency and troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software.
  • Write technical documentation.

Customer Experience

  • Become a subject-matter expert in public cloud economics and financial optimisation and ultimately become a trusted advisor for customers.
  • Own the customer onboarding process including 1) cost optimisation workshops explaining key concepts of public cloud economics and financial optimisation, 2) provide product training and 3) gathering onboarding requirements.
  • Work with customer leadership, technical and project teams to ensure financial governance or optimisation recommendations are understood and implemented.
  • Provide customer feedback to Stellar product managers.

About you

  • A degree or background in a technical capacity such as computing, software engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent programming skills using languages such as Python and Ruby.
  • Knowledge and experience of developing and architecting solutions via APIs.
  • Excellent analytical skills and aptitude with databases/SQL and spreadsheets.
  • An understanding of databases and/or data warehouses, e.g. PostgreSQL, mySQL, Redshift 
  • An understanding and passion for exceptional customer service.
  • An ability to maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

It would be highly desirable if you had:

  • An understanding of cloud technologies – cloud pricing models and billing structures is a bonus.
  • Experience of CI/CD, software build pipelines and infrastructure as code, e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation
  • An understanding of microservice architectures & containerization, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with configuration management solutions (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
  • Experience of designing, developing and integrating with Restful APIs.
  • Experience of presentation layer technologies (HTML 5, React, Semantic, Yarn, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Knowledge of test-driven development (TDD)
