Overview
The Global Intermediary Management Services (GIMS) Digital Web team is responsible for the strategic planning, construction, enhancement and maintenance of the firm’s digital web presence targeting the global and US professional investment community.
The London based development team is responsible for building functionality for the international intermediary site.
The successful candidate will join the team as a junior software engineer working on developing web solutions using technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Angular, AWS and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
The role & responsibilities
- Build and deliver web-based solutions based on business requirements and priorities
- Work with other developers, analysts and the project manager in an Agile environment
- Meet with web product owners and analysts to understand requirements and thereby build appropriate solutions
- Work independently as well as part of a team
- Accountable for all parts of the software development lifecycle
- Contributes to team technical discussions
- Comfortable working across the full application technology stack
Requirements
- Recent graduate, or due to graduate summer 2021
- Degree in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering or STEM related field
- Strong academic achievement — 2:1 (or equivalent) degree
- Knowledge of front-end web technologies and frameworks such as JavaScript, Angular, HTML5, CSS
- Any experience in website development or Java would be advantageous
- Good communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities
- A passion to learn and grow technical skills
- Able to work directly with business stakeholders
- Can articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions
- A curious mind and interest in learning more about the investment management industry
- A flexible thinker able to evolve a solution when additional information or ideas are presented
