Finance Internship 2022
This paid, 10-week programme over the summer will give you real-life experience in one of our Finance teams. It’s an exciting opportunity and definitely more than just numbers - we’re counting on you to support our customers’ needs and to work with trusted partners to help serve our customers a little better every day. You’ll need to work collaboratively across our Finance teams and wider business to deliver a project, building valuable skills to support your future career.
The size and scale of our business means we have a huge variety of finance roles and specialisms. Our Finance internship will give you an insight into the breadth of opportunities at Tesco and it’s a great way for you to understand how the world of finance works. You can also learn about the CIMA qualification, which you’ll work towards if you come back as a Finance graduate. A successful internship with us can guarantee your place on our Finance graduate programme when you graduate – before you’ve even started your final year of study!
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for quick learners who are keen to work in a fast-paced environment. You’ll need to be a great teammate, and able to use your skills to solve problems.
What you need: predicted 2:2 degree
Working at our Welwyn Garden City campus
Our leafy, green campus is just 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Welwyn Garden City with its many shops, restaurants, pubs and sports facilities. Close to the A1, and with frequent trains running to Finsbury Park in just 20 minutes (free shuttle buses take you between the station and office), the campus is well connected to the surrounding area.
On campus you’ll find subsidised restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a Tesco Express to pick up your lunch or last-minute essentials. You can join the on-site Nuffield Health gym, which has state-of-the-art fitness equipment, two studios for group classes, plus treatment rooms.
Your experience with us
Induction
We’ll kick off your internship with a two-day induction, where you’ll learn more about our business and your programme. It’s a great opportunity for you to meet your fellow interns. We’ll then introduce you to your team, so you can get to know more about your role and the area you’ll be working in.
Store experience
You’ll spend two days out of your ten weeks working in one of our stores. The time you spend there will help you to learn how our stores operate, how they link to your role or project and help you to understand our customers, so you can serve them a little better every day.
Programme structure
You’ll gain real-life experience by completing a project, working collaboratively with other colleagues. Although you’ll be based in one area for the duration of your internship, you’ll get an insight into the breadth of opportunities at Tesco.
Where next?
Throughout your internship, you’ll be encouraged to develop skills and gain experience that will support you in your future career. You’ll also receive valuable feedback on how you’ve performed during your 10 weeks to help understand your strengths and areas to develop further.
Application deadline
We recruit on a rolling basis, which means roles will be filled on a first come first served approach, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
