Technology Cyber Security Graduate Programme 2022
We care about cyber security, and it's critical that we protect our data and systems. You’ll receive specific cyber security training and real projects to work on, so you can develop your skills. You’ll work as part of a global cyber security team, collaborating with a range of specialists.
Our cyber security team are the eyes and ears of our organisation. We use the latest technologies to increase visibility and protection of systems, services and data. To do this, we need to stay ahead of the latest threats and continuously improve our tooling, procedures and processes. We work collaboratively with our software and systems engineering teams to support security throughout the development lifecycle, as well as to build proactive monitoring and responses to security events.
You’ll develop a broad knowledge of cyber security, completing placements across a range of security functions from security operations to vulnerability management, security testing, and monitoring and capability. You’ll have the opportunity to work on incident response, security platforms and security architecture and many more. You’ll also contribute to a global cyber defence effort by evaluating, securing systems and responding to incidents.
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for graduates who want to be part of a cross-functional, diverse and global team. If you’re well-organised, pragmatic, a problem solver with an inquisitive mind then we want to hear from you. While it’s not essential you have a degree in computer science or a STEM subject, you must be able to demonstrate your technical ability and a passion for cyber security.
What you need: 2:2 degree
Working at our Welwyn Garden City campus
Our leafy, green campus is just 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Welwyn Garden City with its many shops, restaurants, pubs and sports facilities. Close to the A1, and with frequent trains running to Finsbury Park in just 20 minutes (free shuttle buses take you between the station and office), the campus is well connected to the surrounding area.
On campus, you’ll find subsidised restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a Tesco Express to pick up your lunch or last-minute essentials. You can join the on-site Nuffield Health gym, which has state-of-the-art fitness equipment, two studios for group classes, plus treatment rooms.
Your experience with us
Induction
We’ll kick off with a two-day induction, where you’ll learn more about our business and your programme. It’s a great opportunity for you to meet your fellow graduates. We’ll then introduce you to your team, so you can get to know more about your role or project and the area you’ll be working in.
Store experience
Within the first six months, you’ll spend four weeks working in one of our stores. You’ll learn how our stores operate and how they link to your role or project, which is crucial for serving our customers a little better every day.
Programme structure
You’ll gain a breadth of technology experience and skills as you complete three placements in different parts of our department.
Where next?
This breadth of experience will help you think about your future at Tesco, beyond your programme, as there is a wide variety of job opportunities. As you finish your programme, you should be well-equipped to excel in a role that plays to your unique strengths and interests.
Application deadline
We recruit on a rolling basis, which means roles will be filled on a first come first served approach, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
