About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Associate to join our growing civil engineering team at Tetra Tech Europe. We are looking for candidates to be based out of Leeds, Manchester or Bristol but continuing full flexible working. Our portfolio includes an exciting and diverse range of clients, in sectors such as energy and utilities, government services, nuclear, property, education, water, residential, transport and defence.

About you
We require experienced individuals of a high calibre to lead the design and detailing of civil engineering works associated with a variety of major and challenging infrastructure projects for the private and public sector.
Specifically, we are seeking to grow our delivery team and require applicants experienced in the leadership, management and design of highway and drainage infrastructure projects delivered with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Micro-Drainage.
You will work independently and proactively and will have responsibility for leading and managing the input of others and the commercial success of our projects. There will also be the opportunity to work collaboratively with senior management. There are no barriers to your growth in this role.
You will take responsibility for a range of projects, lead them independently and be the client’s main point of contact. You will manage, develop and mentor junior colleagues in the design and management of infrastructure schemes and will work with clients to ensure delivery of projects to time and cost and help to manage change.
Our projects are UK wide and some travel would be expected on occasion, including working outside normal office hours.
You are an enthusiastic Civil Engineer who likes a challenge.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE or equivalent)
- Proven experience of technical leadership of projects
- Proven experience of commercial leadership of projects
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a desire to lead, a collaborative approach to problem solving and a proven ability to deliver positive outcomes
- Experience of managing the design and input of other disciplines
- Strong experience and a sound knowledge and understanding of highways and drainage infrastructure
- Able to experience of private and public highways, S38 and S278 works, drainage and S104 works
- Your technical knowledge extends to the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroDrainage, including the technical review and approval of designs prepared by others
- You will be fully conversant with sewerage sector guidance (formerly Sewers for Adoption), The CIRIA SuDS Manual, building regulations, local authority and industry design standards
- Able to demonstrate success of leading negotiations with statutory authorities
- Commitment to encouraging good health and safety practices within the workplace and within design
- Team player displaying enthusiasm, flexibility and versatility
- Ability to mentor, encourage and support others
- Hold a full UK driving license
- Willing to apply for security clearance
